Michelle Luna Reynoso is a lifelong defender of human rights, access to justice.
Attorney Reynoso is a San Diego native, raised in National City. She is fluent in English, Spanish, and Chicano Spanglish. Attorney Reynoso graduated from UCLA with two bachelor’s degrees in political science and Chicana and Chicano studies. Her law school education was completed at California Western School of Law. Michelle Luna Reynoso teaches Professional Responsibility and Ethics at the University of San Diego Law School’s LLM program in Spanish. As a criminal defense attorney, the majority of Attorney Reynoso’s clients are indigent. Attorney Reynoso believes people from her community are entitled to culturally competent and fierce representation. She works with many organizations and non-profits including: Mundo Gardens, Justicia Criminal Defense Association, the United Lowrider Coalition, Paddle For Peace, and the San Diego La Raza Lawyer’s Association. Attorney Reynoso commits her time to various programs and committees, including: the San Diego La Raza Lawyer’s Association’s Trial Advocacy Program where she collects suits and raises funds for students. She helped both create and coach the first-ever Sweetwater High School Mock Trial Team, the very high school she graduated from. She also serves on the Association’s Endorsements Committee and is a dedicated member of the San Diego La Raza Lawyer’s Association’s Community Service Committee and the Public Benefit Fund, where she helped create the first-ever in-person “En La Comunidad Law Fair” for high school students in the South Bay community — an incredible event connecting students with attorneys, judges, and legal information in a safe, crisis-free setting. Michelle Luna Reynoso’s hobbies include spending time with her family, attending community events, working in her garden, hiking, longboard surfing, and practicing and promoting her Aztec dance group and culture: Danza Azteca Kuauhkoatl.
